August Spotlight: Darryl Warren

Why did you choose Collaborative?
I chose Collaborative because of its impressive track record and reputation within the industry and partner ecosystem. The growth of the company over the last few years has been astounding. I believe that is a direct result of the great work Collaborative has done in helping customers reach their goals and business objectives. The positive feedback I received during my research about the company’s culture had a lot to do with my decision, as well. I was excited to join a company with a supportive leadership team committed to empowering employees.
What does your day-to-day look like in your role?
You know the saying “never a dull moment?" That sums up a day in the life of a Client Partner here at Collaborative, and I love it. My day-to-day can vary quite a bit. I get the privilege of working with existing customers to help drive business results. I could spend my time anywhere from back-to-back meetings conducting discovery calls, to answering questions via email/phone about new service offerings, to negotiating contract details, to positioning value-add post-production support services in order to help customers continue their finance and HR transformation journeys. Market fluency is very important, so my days often include researching top industry trends and keeping up to date on the latest customer news. Last, but certainly not least, is the time I spend working with the Service Delivery teams sharing customer feedback and future roadmap plans.
What do you love about your job?
There are many things I love about my job. I love building and strengthening relationships with both new and existing customers. I think the best part about my job is seeing our customers succeed and reach new milestones. Sharing those joyous moments with customers and hearing them express appreciation for Collaborative’s support makes me love what I do. I also enjoy the autonomy I have in my role as a Client Partner to develop new business opportunities and help grow our business in the Western U.S. across the Education, Government, and Nonprofit sectors.
What does it take to be successful in your role?
To be successful in my role, you need to be personable, have some marketing, research, & communication skills (verbal/non-verbal), be very resourceful, and be good with relationship management and time management. Managing your time effectively helps align commitments to priorities with both coworkers and customers.
How does Collaborative help you grow as a person and in your career?
Collaborative helps me grow personally and professionally by promoting an “always learning” type of culture. Ongoing training is available throughout the year to help build knowledge and awareness of industry trends and new services and solutions, as well as training that is aligned with my personal goals and interests. Our library of internal training is awesome, and I’ve been able to accelerate my personal and professional growth as a result.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
If I could have one super power, it would be ageless immortality. I would, however, want the option of choosing the age.
What’s your favorite TV show at the moment?
I just binge-watched The Ozarks. I cannot wait for the next season!
