June Spotlight: Javan Robinson

Why did you choose Collaborative?
Ironically, Collaborative chose me, due to the acquisition of OneSource Virtual. I’ve been with OneSource Virtual since I graduated college. What kept me there was the people and the team culture. One thing I can say is that Collaborative holds the same culture and environment that kept me at OneSource Virtual. This is something I’m deeply appreciative and excited about.
What does your day-to-day look like in your role?
My typical day-to-day is filled with numerous tasks that are generally spread throughout each project. Some of these tasks are:
- Leading status meetings, internally and externally, as well as steering committee meetings
- Working and overseeing milestones on the timeline and tasks on the project plan
- Managing the project budget
- Creating project documentation necessary for the project, such as change orders
- Partnering with Workday Delivery Assurance to ensure the project is adhering to Workday methodology
What do you love about your job?
What I love most about this job is the camaraderie. Workday implementations are a team sport, and there’s a lot to give and learn when you’re working with experts in their fields.
What does it take to be successful in your role?
Organization and preparation are key. Some of the best in my role are ones who typically plan and think ahead, allowing for quick reactions and flexibility when changes come.
How does Collaborative help you grow as a person and in your career?
Opportunity is key. Having the ability to try something new and work on something different is vital. Each project is a journey and it’s never the same as another. That type of diversity in projects allows the opportunity for continuous challenge and growth.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I think if I could have ANY superpower, it would be the ability to time travel. I’d love to be able to live some historical moments in person.
What’s your favorite TV show at the moment?
This is a tough one. I’d have to say my favorite TV show at this very moment is Succession (but this could change at any time). Talk about adrenaline-filled!
