Title: Consultant, HCM
Location: New Jersey, United States
Been with Collaborative for: 1 Year
Why did you choose Collaborative?
During my academic career, I have had internships and jobs where I didn’t feel a part of the organization, but just another number to fulfill a business goal. I knew then, that for my first professional job, I wanted to join an organization that invested in me as much as I invest in myself. My alma mater has close ties to Collaborative Solutions, and when I saw Collabies come to speak to us, hearing the stories of programs like the Associate Consultant Program was extremely refreshing. I made the decision in January 2018, that one day I would work for Collaborative Solutions and I am so grateful to finally call myself a Collabie.
What does your day-to-day look like in your role?
On any given day I can have several different client calls, where we are gathering system requirements, answering questions, providing adequate information for clients to feel empowered to make decisions, and noting them down along with any action plans, risks, and issues. Outside of meetings, I find myself configuring the system to client requirements, doing community research, and being resourceful in order for my project team and I to meet our client’s expectations.
What do you love about your job?Being a part of a team, which includes internal resources and clients. We all work closely on the overall project team to ensure that we build a fitting system for our Clients that will help them reach their unique goals. I also love that every day presents a new challenge to conquer and solve.
What does it take to be successful in your role?Being open to learn. The Associate Consultant program is a developmental program where you are groomed to be a great consultant. You have to put the time in, be open and honest about your goals. It is also, important to network and builds a team of resources that you can lean on when you need some guidance or a different perspective. Lastly, being present at work. We deal with a lot of different people on a daily basis, and it is crucial to be able to understand a situation or project from different points of perspective.
How does Collaborative help you grow as a person and in your career? The opportunities at Collaborative Solutions are endless and as an organization, CS helps guide you to whatever opportunity you desire to chase. When looking back over the last year, I learned a lot while being on projects. I have also learned equally as much from joining internal initiatives and joining Employee Resource Groups, such as VALOR, our veteran support ERG.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?In a world with other superheroes, I would want to have the superpower of power replication.
What’s your favorite TV show at the moment? At the moment, and forever will be, GREYS ANATOMY.
