Why did you choose Collaborative?
I chose Collaborative based on its reputation in the ecosystem. When I was researching my next move, Collaborative consistently came up as the partner for me. I always heard how good the individual consultants were. Another common theme was the high quality of delivery on projects. I thought, 'If these foundational attributes are consistently good, then the culture must be great!'What makes you enjoy working at Collaborative?
There are quite a few reasons, so I will just pick two to prevent this blog entry from turning into a novel. First is the teamwork on projects. Every project I have been on, there has been great support. From the engagement managers to every consultant on the project, the team is supportive and helpful across the board. I think this speaks to both the quality of the consultants and the attention to the details on overall project delivery. A close second is the actual consideration given to everyone’s work/life balance. Throughout my career, I have heard about it many times. Yet this is the first time that I have ever actually felt like a company truly cares about my personal well-being. It is very refreshing.
How does Collaborative help you grow as a person and in your career?
One of the reasons I came to Collaborative was the company’s continuing growth. This growth fosters personal growth, since there are always opportunities to learn new things or move into different roles. In addition to the opportunities for growth, all the way up the management chain, people are truly happy to provide mentorship, guidance, and help.
Which Collaborative value resonates most with you?
People. Collaborative lives out this value in its emphasis on work/life balance, which is a buzzword that always seems to fall apart when you start the actual work. However, at Collaborative, there is an actual concern about burnout, managing workload, and ensuring that we take vacations. I feel very lucky to have found a company that truly cares about my well-being.
What is your favorite show that you can’t stop watching?
I am pretty limited in this area. I will say I’m looking forward to the next season of Better Call Saul. The writing and directing of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould create amazing story and character development. That, combined with the acting, makes rooting for the not-so-nice (dare I say evil?) protagonists feel oh-so-good.
