RESTON, VA – October 15, 2020 – Carroll Ross, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Collaborative Solutions, was named a finalist for CEO of the Year by the Maryland Tech Council’s (MTC) annual Industry Awards Celebration (IAC). This year’s winners were revealed at a virtual celebration on October 13, 2020. The event celebrates individuals and companies that have made a significant impact in the technology and life sciences industries.
“This year’s Industry Awards Celebration nominations were amazing with respect to their accomplishments and the value that they bring their respective industries and clients,” said the IAC committee co-chairs, Tony Deflumeri, the Atlantic Region Director of Business Development for BDO, and Howard S. Rothman, Vice President, J.P. Morgan Securities. “The number of truly outstanding companies represented among the finalists within each of the award categories speaks to the commitment and dedication they all bring to being the very best.”
Carroll founded Collaborative because he wanted to develop a new model for consulting firms, both customer-facing and internally. Included in that internal model is an open-door policy with the leadership team, a culture of feedback, and opportunities for employees to build real relationships. Over the last several years, Carroll has led initiatives to build upon the learnings collected through his annual CEO Survey, which included a refresh of our company values (People, Collaboration, Knowledge, Balance, and Integrity) as well as a 'Valuing Your Voice' initiative that allows employees to provide their thoughts and feedback across key areas that impact their employee experience.
Carroll is not only dedicated to his employees, but he is also committed to giving back to the community. Driven by a true passion to support Autism Speaks and the organization’s mission, Collaborative was the first corporate-sponsored National Walk Team for the organization. Carroll has rallied employees to help fundraise and donate throughout the years, even agreeing to creative campaigns that inspire employees to support Autism Speaks. When we've hit our company fundraising goals, Carroll has suited up sumo-style for a fierce competition against other leaders and rocked a poncho and goggles for a pie-in-the-face trivia game. All of which have resulted in significant contributions toward an important cause.
When it comes to meeting and exceeding business goals and customer expectations, evolving our company culture as a great workplace for all, and giving back to our communities, Collaborative is successful in large part because Carroll leads with courage, intention, and hard work.
